Full casting has been announced for the new Broadway production of Cinderella, which begins previews January 24, 2013, and is set to officially open February 24 at the Broadway Theatre. The classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical features a new book by Douglas Carter Beane.
The comedic reimagining of the 1957 television musical boasts an all-star cast. Tony nominee Laura Osnes steps into the glass slippers of the titular rags-to-riches heroine. Also leading the cast are Santino Fontana as the Prince, Tony winner Victoria Clark as fairy godmother Marie, Tony winner Harriet Harris as Cinderella's stepmother Madame, Ann Harada (Avenue Q) and Marla Mindelle (Sister Act) as respective stepsisters Charlotte and Gabrielle, Peter Bartlett (The Frogs) as Prince Topher's mentor and Lord Chancellor Sebastian, and Greg Hildreth (Peter and the Starcatcher) as the rebel Jean-Michel.
Joining the previously announced cast will be Phumzile Sojola (The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess) as Lord Pinkleton. The ensemble features Jill Abramovitz (9 to 5), Kristine Bendul (Come Fly Away), Heidi Giberson, Stephanie Gibson (The Addams Family), Shonica Goode (Bring it On the Musical), Kendal Hartse (On a Clear Day You Can See Forever), Robert Hartwell (Nice Work if You Can Get It), Laura Irion, Andy Jones, Andy Mills (Memphis), Linda Mugleston (Anything Goes), Peter Nelson, Nick Spangler (The Book of Mormon), Cody Williams (Memphis), Branch Woodman (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) and Kevin Worley. Swings are Drew Franklin, Adam Jepsen, Alessa Neeck (White Christmas) and Kirstin Tucker.
Cinderella features choreography by Josh Rhodes, set design by Anna Louizos, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.
